Through the years I spent time working for several different construction companies. Each job taught me a little more about how to build a quality home. From underpinning, setup, pouring foundations, framing, trimming, decks, and porches, no job was too small. I wanted to learn everything, down to the most minor detail. The skills and experience I gained led me to eventually open my own construction company.
I started Evans Construction by handing out flyers and doing small jobs. Word of mouth led to one job after another, and my reputation was built on this alone. While working as a framing subcontractor for America’s Home Place, I learned a lot about all aspects of home construction and decided to put that knowledge to use in my own company as a home builder.
Today, Evans Construction of the Carolinas is family owned and operated. As a long-time resident of South Carolina, I know the area and the people. I also know how stressful it can be to buy or sell a property but will do everything I can to make the process enjoyable for you and your family.
I’d like to acknowledge the people who helped me find my path to creating Evans Construction. Some of them were employers, and some were just willing to give of their time and expertise to impart some valuable knowledge or assistance. My sincere appreciation goes out to each one. They are as follows:
- C.K. Construction – my first construction job
- Mr. Kidd – my trigonometry professor at Florence Darlington Tech
- Mr. Brown – Brown’s Construction
- George Kelly – America’s Home Place
- Becky A.Weaver – (to build Hartsville Surgical Center and Morphis Pediatrics)
- Jamie Morphis – Carolina Bank
- Melvin Lawson – Builders’ First Source
- Michael Dennis
- Darrell Watford
- John Murray
